Compact Design, Big Performance
Don’t be fooled by its size. The Gaggia Classic Pro E24 is only 14.2 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 9.5 inches deep, which makes it perfect for smaller kitchens or countertops. But inside, it packs a lot of punch. Its brass boiler heats quickly and consistently, giving you stable temperatures every time you brew. That means every espresso shot comes out rich, balanced, and flavorful.
Whether you’re looking for an espresso machine for beginners, a semi-automatic espresso machine for home, or a compact but professional alternative to cafe machines, this model balances usability with quality. The 58mm portafilter and brass brew group allow for a generous amount of coffee grounds, which improves extraction and flavor. Combined with a three-way valve and backflush capability, cleaning and maintaining the machine is simple—even if you’re new to home espresso.
Professional-Style Features for Home Use
One of the most appreciated features of the Classic Pro E24 is its commercial-style steam wand. It rotates, has two steam tips, and reaches 3.75 inches, letting you froth milk for lattes, cappuccinos, or flat whites just like your favorite cafe. Plus, the stainless steel cup warmer ensures your cups are preheated, keeping your espresso at the perfect temperature.
Controls are straightforward, with rocker switches and LED indicator lights so you don’t have to guess what’s going on. Even the removable drip tray, which holds up to 16 fl-oz, makes cleanup easy and stress-free.
Why Coffee Lovers Choose the Classic Pro E24
If you’re in the market for an affordable espresso machine, the Gaggia Classic Pro E24 offers a lot for its price. It stands out as one of the best espresso machines under $500 thanks to its balance of performance, durability, and price. Unlike cheaper machines that use plastic parts or flimsy boilers, this model features a polished steel group head and a brass boiler, giving it the longevity of a commercial-style espresso machine but in a compact home-friendly size.
The E24 also addresses common issues found in previous models. For instance, the portafilter is now stainless steel, which reduces wear and tear, while the redesigned pump system keeps noise to a minimum. It’s an ideal machine for anyone serious about home espresso who wants reliability, precision, and consistency without paying a fortune. This make it the best espresso machine for home barista
Pairing It With a Grinder
To get the most out of your Gaggia Classic Pro E24, pairing it with a good home espresso grinder is key. The Varia VS3 Stepless Coffee Grinder or the Turin DF54 Single Dose Grinder are excellent choices, letting you dial in your grind size perfectly for every espresso shot. Using a stepless coffee grinder with this machine ensures even extraction and a richer flavor profile.

Even if you’re new to espresso, the Classic Pro E24 makes it easy to experiment. You can try different beans, adjust shot times, and practice frothing milk without feeling overwhelmed. It’s a machine that grows with your skills. Plus, because it’s a semi-automatic espresso machine, you get hands-on control but without needing to manage every little detail manually.

For years I had a very large fully manual machine. When it gave up the ghost this year, I was back in the market. After reading about the gaggia classic pro E24 online, I thought this might be my new machine. It really is. It’s so much smaller, I love that I can either use my own ground espresso or the pods, and the frothing. . . I was never able to get my previous frother to work so well. I can make such fluffy froth now! The set up and trouble shooting videos on the youtube made my introduction and learning curve so easy. I really love this machine — it is perfect for my espresso habit.

It’s everything it’s hyped to be. I already love my machine in less than a month. Easy to learn and use, consistent, looks good – a lot in a small package.

My upgrade to the Gaggia started with a simple question to ChatGPT: is heat or pressure more important when brewing espresso? After doing some temperature measurements, it became clear that the heat output on my previous espresso maker was way too low. I wasn’t really brewing espresso all those years. At best, I was making lukewarm coffee. That realization sent me down a research rabbit hole that included far too many Instagram reels and eventually narrowed my choice to this machine or a Breville. I went with the Gaggia for two main reasons: it’s Italian, and it allows for more technique and experimentation in the espresso-making process. That same question also led to a series of additional purchases: a WDT tool, a higher quality tamper, a dosing funnel, a scale with a timer and a singledose grinder. After all the learning and dialing in, I can confidently say I’m pulling much better shots, and the flavors of the coffee are actually coming through. I’m pausing any additional purchases for now, though I suspect I’ll continue to geek out on future upgrades.

We’ve only had it for 3 weeks but I’ve been really impressed with this machine! The learning curve is not as steep as I expected. The scale, towel, and beans EMW include are an incredibly good deal, and are essential additions to the espresso making experience. Standing 10 toes down on this machine and buying from them

This is my partner and I’s first espresso machine and it really is so simple to use. It makes great shots and the steamer works quickly and consistent! I am very happy with this purchase as I was on the fence about getting a breville. I am glad I went with the quality Italian made machine that has a long lasting reputation. The only thing I can think of that I’d hope Gaggia changes in the future is creating extra space under the porta filter for taller cup or mug. Sometimes I have to remove the tray to place a larger cup which isn’t a big deal but would be nice to have more room. Overall very happy with this machine!

After much thought and researching and willing to spend on other espresso machines, I decided and settled for the pro e24 and couldn’t be more pleased. Espresso shots are the best I’ve had and so much better than my previous espresso machine. I’ve been pulling shots at home for 20 years now and the simplicity of this machine is exactly what I want. No fuss, and each shot so far is perfection. Steaming/frothing milk is quick and produces nice froth. Well built and sturdy machine.

Great machine and great service from the team at Espresso Machines World! I started my espresso machine journey after watching many online videos and was torn between several options. The gaggia classic E24 had all the features I wanted including quality construction, new larger brass boiler and commercial quality 58mm group. The machine arrived on time and the overall customer experience is excellent. I am able to make delicious espressos and lattes with this machine, and I paired it with a Varia VS6 stepless grinder.

This is my first espresso machine so I don’t have a lot of experience and even for me it has been very straightforward to operate. I’ve been able to pull excellent shots once I got the grind setting dialed in on my beans. I love the look and feel of the machine, it feels commercial and made with quality materials. There is also a great community online for the gaggia classic that you can get any answers you are looking for and there are endless mod options if you are so inclined. I highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for simple well made espresso machine designed for just one simple purpose, pull an espresso shot.
Nicolas Crane –
I’m absolutely loving this espresso machine. I was looking for a reliable, entry-level machine that still delivers real quality, and this one has exceeded every expectation. Over the past four years, I went through three other machines (two Brevilles and a De’Longhi), and honestly, they weren’t worth the plastic they were made from. This machine is on a completely different level. Beautiful design, simple and intuitive controls, and a solid, sturdy metal build. Most importantly, it consistently brews top-tier espresso every single time. On top of that, the team at Espresso Machine World has been phenomenal. Their customer service is truly exemplary knowledgeable, patient and incredibly generous with their time. The experience was so good that I immediately purchased a coffee grinder from them as well. I couldn’t recommend this machine more highly.

After months of going back and forth and way too much YouTube we finally got the gaggia e24 in white about 2 months ago. My husband has that automatic Gaggia at his office and he is obsessed with it, so we brought it home to try. Solid machine but dang it is pricey, like three times the cost. We hit up a bunch of stores, watched a million videos, and finally just went for the e24. Best decision ever. The coffee with our beans is just insane, like outstanding. There is a learning curve though, not gonna lie. Now we legit get hyped for our espresso every morning. I have had espresso all over the place and nothing touches this. We loved it so much we got the same exact one for my parents. We grabbed the df54 grinder too and that thing is awesome. Also bought the wood handle portafilter because I liked the vibe and yeah it is way better than the one it comes with. If I am being real I would rate my coffee a twelve out of ten. For real. The grind is everything. Love this machine.
